The island of St. John is the smallest of the three major U.S. Virgin Islands. Surrounded by coral reefs and seagrass beds, our 19 square mile island is an environmentalist’s dream and a snorkeler’s and diver’s paradise. Over two-thirds of the island is protected by the National Park Service and features some of the world’s finest beaches.
The highest elevation on the island is Bordeaux Mountain at 1277’ above sea level. The island’s northern slopes are covered by a moist subtropical forest. The southern and eastern slopes are covered in dry forest.
The hub of commercial activity on St. John is the town of Cruz Bay. Cruz Bay is home to the island’s main port for passenger ferries, car ferries, and barges. With two major duty-free shopping areas in the town, visitors can expect to find a wide selection of watches, jewelry, perfumes, clothing, and other retail items at prices significantly under stateside prices. Most of the island’s restaurants and nightlife are found in, or near, Cruz Bay. St. John’s quieter, more "laid-back" community is the village of Coral Bay on the eastern side of the island. Home to only 600 of the island’s 4500 residents, Coral Bay has some wonderful little restaurants, shops, and as of 1996, its own gas station. Coral Bay Harbor is the anchoring area of choice for many sailboats, which are homes to many of the village residents.
The East End of St. John just may be the island’s best kept secret. With views of the Atlantic Ocean and the British Virgin Islands to the North and the beautiful Caribbean Sea to the south, the scenery just can’t get any better than this anywhere in the world!

Welcome to our family!
Book-It V.I. is a family owned and operated company. Our focus is to make you part of our extended family and make sure we do our best to make your St. John vacation the trip of a lifetime.
Our management philosophy is consistent with the way we live our own lives. Simply, we treat our guests, villa owners, and employees in an honest, respectful manner that is fair to everyone.
Bill and Cathy left the snowy winters of Northwestern Pennsylvania in 1995, tossing away the corporate world (advertising) and not looking back. Both quickly adjusted to island living and haven't thought twice about their "life-change".
BILL DOVE
Bill founded Book-It V.I. in 1997. Using his computer background and his island contacts, he starterd building web pages for various excursions and homes on the island. The rest, well, is history in the making....He is now using his marketing and sales background as our in-office real estate "guru". He has quickly become one of the islands top Realtors, when not in working for Book-It or in the Tropical Properties office you can probably find him hanging out at Island Blues in Coral Bay with the guys or in the sea enjoying his own private underwater world.
CHRISTY DOVE
After graduating from Penn State University, Christy went to work full time in the cruise industry. After a number of contracts aboard Celebrity and Cunard Cruise Lines, Christy decided to try sticking on land. At about the same time, Bill (her father) was ready to get moving with his new business venture, and was in need of a bit of help. Christy joined Book-It V.I. as a partner in 1998. She has now taken over the web design and stateside marketing for Book-It. She has recently relocated part-time "stateside" and is now running the Book-It reservation office out of Orlando, FL as well as St. John.
CATHY DOVE
When not swimming and snorkeling, Cathy works part time in the St. John office. She prides herself as Wife and Mother to her bosses and she is still the Queen of the family and business! As long as her constituents remember this, all goes well.
We will provide our guests with the highest level of quality and care that we can provide. Every member of our company, from the president to the grounds maintenance personnel, understands your right to expect our properties to be well-maintained, clean, and safe. We respect your desire for privacy. We will provide our products to you, at rates that are competitive in the St. John market, while providing an adequate return on investment to the individual and a reasonable profit to the company.
